Lessons Learned in Life as Mompreneur
There have been many, MANY lessons learned in life, from over 20 years as a stay-at-home mompreneur.
I used to think, somehow, I knew all the best steps to be successful. How to scale my business while skipping a few steps on the ladder. (insert sigh here!)
However, I quickly learned the experiences I hoped to skip (or didn’t want to deal with), were all part of failing-forward. The reality is only when we learn from those experiences, can we scale and use those growth moments to gain insight, and move ahead in faith with a positive influence.
So, today I’m sharing with you some lessons I’ve learned, in hopes that those secrets I’ve uncovered, can tip the scales in your direction, bless your efforts, and elevate you and your brand in the business world.
Lesson #1: Work from Commitment
My first lesson of success is learning the hard fact that it is not in the big strides and huge pushes as social media and the news often cause us to believe.
No, instead, it’s in the daily, committed actions; the behind-the-scenes, consistent efforts.
If you’ve been waiting for the “feeling” to hit, well…you already know the answer. It seldom will. Working from emotion will surely stunt your consistency, stall your efforts, and quickly limit your confidence.
Like Nike says, it’s “JUST DOING IT”, whether or not, it’s exciting that day. Working on AND in your business daily, despite what your feelings are saying to you.
#2: Work with Prepared Courage
Success is truly not in the champion wins that we see celebrated. It’s in the small, consistent daily efforts, multiplying over time that culminated into the victory.
It’s working from that spark deep inside, that flame that tells you there’s more waiting for you. There’s more awaiting you and your family past that obstacle.
And yes, it’s rising up and showing up, while you handle life’s challenges and disruptions. Expect them. Know that those obstacles WILL come.
When we’re prepared with faith-filled courage and a plan, we can navigate them with grace.
#3: Work with Clarity
Success is setting time on your calendar for the things you are committed to, for your priorities!
It’s recognizing that time is the one element that cannot be extended. It’s recognizing that time spent in one place is time away from another.

Ask yourself,…
“Where am I spending my time?
What is consuming my hours in my daily grind?
Is that time spent taking me closer to my goals?”
Believing that “NOW matters more than anything!” is crucial to propelling you towards those goals! We each have 24 hours in a day. Are you aware of where you spend yours? And, are those hours in alignment with your priorities and goals?
#4: Work from a Core Vision
Success is knowing to your core that whatever standard you set for yourself, inevitably is where you’ll end up.
If those standards are not where you’re seeing yourself in your 5, 10, or 20 year plan, then the daily activities, the routine tasks and the negotiable choices must be scratched and rewritten.
When we really want something, we will find a way, if not- you know it – we’ll find an excuse. An excuse that tries to give us permission to give up on ourselves.
Keeping those priorities and visiting your vision daily are key in staying your intended course and such important lessons as an entrepreneur.
Lesson #5: Work in Constant Faith
I challenge you to establish a rule in your life that you will no longer break a promise to yourself, no matter how small it may seem.
Be that find-a-way, make-a-way woman! When God sees us carry through in the small matters, He will bless us in the bigger ones!
Take Him as your business partner, and pray for God’s guidance daily. Ask Him to direct your efforts and to help you to see…
WHO needs to hear from you?
WHERE your next best step is?
WHAT can you do to help carry out His perfect plan for you?
Release the pressures, and move forward in bold, blessed confidence.
Today’s faithful actions really are the fuel for your dreams, my sisters! How will you allow Him to bless your efforts today?
